We officially have a 4 month old! How in the world did that happen so fast? We went to the doctor this morning and Natalia weighs 15 pounds 10.5 ounces, is 26 inches long and her head is about 17 inches around. She’s in the top 85 percentile (or higher) for other babies her age. How exciting!
During the third month she was also going through her 4th leap. I won’t lie and say it’s been a breeze. At time it was really tough and I was so thankful to see Pablo walk through the door in the evening. She continues to sleep through the night though, which we are very grateful for! She also learned to roll over a few weeks ago but will really only do it once or twice a day. She’ll normally bust out her moves just when I start to think that maybe she forgot how to do it and then BAM she’ll roll over. She loves to talk, especially when getting her diaper changed or when she’s relaxing in her swing. It’s so cute to hear her little voice and we love encouraging her to talk.
I am really excited for Spring to come and to be able to get out of the house more. The sun was shinning today so we went for our first walk using the stroller and her sitting like a big girl. She loved it, except when the sun was in her face but that’s okay.
As far as getting used to being a mom and a wife, I think I’m getting better at it. Dinner is actually being made more often and not as late. Sometimes I can even start dinner before Pablo gets home! She always seems to be ready to eat about the time that we’re going to sit down to eat but we quickly learned that she runs the house (and our schedule). The house work is getting done and the laundry is getting washed, so I say I’m being pretty successful.
It’s kind of crazy to think it’s almost been a year since we found out we were pregnant! Time really does fly when you’re having fun.
Happy 4 months Natalia Sofia! Mom & Dad love you so so much!
Three months and 5 days exactly since my last post, and three months and 4 days exactly since Natalia made her grand (and early) entrance into the world!
I’ve held off on posting about her birth or anything for personal reasons but not because I don’t want to share the story but because it has taking me awhile to accept and be okay with how everything turned out. I’m still not sure how I feel about it all but what’s done is done and all that matters is that she’s here and healthy.
Natalia Sofia was born on October 8th 2014 at 7:08pm, she was 19 1/4 inches long and 6lbs 1oz! She was one tiny little baby but so beautiful and so perfect.
The past three months have been a whirlwind. Everyone says it but I’ll say it again…bringing a baby home is hard work! I’ve had moments of success (like a shower with her sleeping? heck yeah!), failure, happiness and moments where all I could do was cry. I wouldn’t trade any of those moments for anything else though and I’m so thankful for them.
We’re still trying to get used to this one stay at home mom/wife thing and finding our balance. Everyone tells me that the house can wait but I try to do something daily so I feel like I was successful in the wife area.
So we’re sitting on 3 months, so far everything (developmentally) has been smooth sailing. At her two month appointment, she weighed 11lbs 3oz and was 23 inches long! She took her 2 month shots like a champ and so far our leaps have been pretty uneventful. The past couple of days she’s really started to grab things, talk A LOT and seems to kind of enjoy tummy time.
It’s pretty crazy how fast she’s grown and how she can learn something new from day to day. I thank the big man upstairs daily for such a happy and healthy baby!
Now, here’s hoping I don’t wait another 3 months to write again. 😉
I could not be more excited or more in love with the way Natalia’s nursery turned out. We had visions of what we wanted (thank you Pinterest) but took awhile to get started and put plans in motions. Pablo pretty much let me do what I wanted to do in the room which made my heart happy, but I’m not sure about the checkbook. 😉
The nursery used to be our office so we had to figure out what we were going do with all of the office stuff. That was the hardest part and some of the stuff is still sitting in the guest bedroom. I’m sure by the time she’s here we’ll have everything organized and put in the right spots, at least I hope we will!
Anyway, most people know purple is one of my favorite colors and I wanted to incorporate that in her room somehow. Do you know how hard it is to find purple stuff for a girl? Everything is pink, which is perfectly okay but my heart was set on purple. I ended up giving up on my “mainly purple” dream and threw some pink and other colors in there. Now that I can sit in there and enjoy the room, I’m glad I went with all the other colors because the room is bright and welcoming, perfect for sitting in there to nurse and hold her.
I was also planning on painting one of the walls in the room but after we had all of her furniture built, we decided we really liked the dark wood against the beige walls so that never happened.
Almost everything in her room (furniture and decorations) are from Target, Hobby Lobby or Craft Wearhouse. The picture frames above her crib were bought at Craft Wearhouse and then I painted them. Doing little crafts kept me busy during the summer and added a little personal touch to the room.
We have a few more frames to hang up above her crib (they are sitting on top of her bookshelf), but other then that, her room is ready! I know the room won’t be in use for awhile but it’s nice to have it done and ready and people enjoy seeing it when they come over.
Now all we need is our little Baby Mac but no rush on that one!
A few months back on my other blog, I started a weekly to-dos post. I got the idea from one of my favorite bloggers, Kerri over at Your Wishcake. This morning after laying in bed for an hour fighting sleep, I decided I wanted to take another try at posting my weekly to-dos.
I figured there’s no better way to start then to recap my last to-do list and make a new one. I’m really going to try my hardest to keep these up after Natalia gets here and hope it will be a way to keep my head above water.
So here’s to my old list and a new list along with a new week!

Have a wonderful week!
Thanks for our wonderful friend Amanda, we were showered with love and gifts on September 6th. It truly was a wonderful shower and we couldn’t be more thankful for all the love we felt that day. There’s no doubt that Natalia is going to be loved and spoiled by many!
The days leading up the baby shower, I was so worried that no one would show up and it would be just Amanda and I sitting there. I have this horrible habit of reading discussion boards and then freaking out that what happened to others will happen to me. I do the same thing when I’m sick and then I convinced myself that I’m dying. Anyway, these boards were full of people having to cancel their showers or no one showing up; I freaked myself out. Thankfully so many people showed up and those that couldn’t come, let me know and even sent gifts.
Again, we can not thank everyone enough for all the love and gifts we have received and we can not wait to share our bundle of joy with each of you!
The other day while in the shower (isn’t that where everyone does their deep soul searching?) I decided to start a family blog. I’ve had a few blogs, mainly just for myself but since we’re growing by one soon, I figured it was a good time to start one as a family. I’ll use it as a place to share what life is like with a newborn, updates on her and of course all the great milestones we’ll witness and reach.
I still can’t believe that I’m due in less then a month! There’s no doubt that I have been blessed with a wonderful easy going pregnancy, I can only hope labor is the same. Her room is ready, her bag (not mine) is packed and so for now, we just wait. I haven’t really had any signs of labor, I think I finally felt my first braxton hick last night and few throughout the day today. They weren’t anything to call home about though but it was the first time I felt some action. I really don’t think she’s going anywhere anytime soon, she’s still really high and at my last appointment she as sitting nice and comfortable (if you know what I mean). We’ll see though, I know that can change in a blink of an eye.
It still blows my mind that before we know it, we’ll bring home our first child and start our life as a family. I get asked a lot if I’m nervous and I would be lying to say that I’m not; but Pablo and I have done a lot of talking and we know that a child changes things. We know our life as we know isn’t over and as long as we keep our communication open and lean on each other, we’ll make it. I’m just going to roll with the punches and see where they land us. Millions of people have had babies and millions of people have made it, so I think we’re good.
I’ll have to come back and blog about Natalia’s nursery and her baby shower so that way all that stuff is documented and put on the inter webs so maybe one day she can come back and read all about those important things. I wish I had started this blog sooner, but it’s better late then never.
I can’t wait to share the good, the bad and the ugly in raising our child, of course with lots of pictures and hopefully fun videos!
